Clark Orlaska, the owner of Practical Sales, is the facilitator for each training seminar, focusing most of the content on sales management, training and education solutions. Clark has more than 20 years of experience as a former road sales representative, a sales manager, and a retail buyer. His wealth of experience and talent, which is proven and shared in the GHTA's education seminars, has had a strong, positive impact within the industry and continues to be a success.
"Each seminar allows participants to discuss and address real-life sales challenges, as well
as to learn a variety of sales practices and techniques," said Clark Orlaska, "The seminars also
teach sales people to enhance their relationships with retailers through these practices, in
order to more directly identify and address retailer's goals."
The format for the education seminars recognizes that participants bring a unique sales experience, career experience and life experience to each seminar. This allows a wide variety of discussions to occur and encourages individuals to problem-solve together.
While seminar topics and discussions may vary, each seminar is focused on developing and improving sales techniques, better supporting the goals of the retailer business and adding value to the retailer-sales associate relationship.
Seminar topic highlights:
* Call Management clarifies sales call goals and assures an effective use of time for the retailer.
* Itinerary Management supports call cycle management, using an appropriate time frame to support retailer goals.
* Line Knowledge prepares a sales associate to know ALL product lines, not just the most familiar lines.
* Organization ensures that the right product samples, catalogs and sales support are available to retailers at the right time.
* 30 Second Commercials makes sure each sales person can build a strong 30 second pitch for their lines.
* Objection Handling prepares a sales associate to answer objections, not deflect objections.
Clark Orlaska started his sales career as a road rep, covering Minnesota and North Dakota. Throughout his career with Target, C.R. Gibson, The Thymes, and Practical Sales, education has been a cornerstone for success with retailers, sales people and sales principals.
Following each training seminar, participants receive a certificate of completion. The certificate is proof of the participant's commitment to relationship building and meeting retailer goals.
